Our Mission

Welcome to the Neonatal Health Systems Research Team!

Our expanding research investigations are focused on characterizing clinical-administrative factors linked to neonatal health and epidemiological outcomes. We are located at the McGill University Health Center - Research Institute and partake in the Child Health and Human Development Program (CHHD).

Using multiple clinical, administrative and financial databases, we are committed to understanding and improving clinical-administrative factors linked to neonatal survival outcomes in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). Our team explores numerous provincial and national datasets in an attempt to identify areas of clinical improvements. By studying organizational variables concerning preterm infants in NICUs, we can identify structural risk factors associated with neonatal outcomes and help design policies to enhance care practices.

We also work closely with the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services on evaluating provincial NICU performances and comparing health outcomes with the rest of Canada. Similarly, we aim to create a provincial registry that clusters clinical, administrative and financial data from all Quebec NICUs. By doing so, we would be able to fill information gaps, better guide resource allocations and uncover new organizational variables linked to survival outcomes.

We are continuously looking to expand our horizons and take on new investigational challenges. Think you can be of a valuable addition to our team?
